Privacy policy
How I handle information on this site: what I don't collect from visitors, what third-party data I publish, and how to exercise your rights.
In one line
I don't identify you individually and I don't use cookies: this site's analytics are aggregated and anonymous, and there are no forms. The only personal data I publish belongs to a handful of people who wrote a public LinkedIn recommendation, linked to their source profile, and who can ask me to remove it whenever they want.
Data controller
Felipe Piña Bandera, as a natural person, is the controller of the personal data described in this policy, in connection with the site fpinab.com.
Contact for any privacy question: fpinab@gmail.com.
What information is processed
From site visitors
No personal data. This site uses no cookies, no contact forms and no user accounts. The only contact channels are a mailto: link and a LinkedIn link, both opened at the visitor's own initiative.
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to know how many visits the site gets. It uses no cookies, stores no identifier between visits, and does not let me recognise a specific person or follow them across sites: it only provides aggregated figures (for example, how many visits a page had). Since it does not identify anyone, it does not amount to processing of personal data under Chile's Law No. 21,719, so the rights in the next section do not apply to this analytics tool.
From third parties
The testimonials section publishes, for a small number of people: name, job title, employer, a profile photo and a link to their LinkedIn profile. These correspond to professional recommendations those people wrote and published voluntarily on their own LinkedIn profile, quoted here verbatim.
Legal basis
Any third-party personal data this site publishes, today or in the future, is processed on the basis of legitimate interest: a basis Chile's Law No. 21,719 (official text in Spanish) recognises as valid when it does not override the person's rights or reasonable expectations, particularly when the person themself already made that information public for an equivalent purpose.
This is the general criterion I apply, not a separate authorisation decided case by case. Anyone whose data appears on this site may request, at any time, that it be corrected or removed, with no need to justify the request.
Your rights
If your data appears on this site, you can exercise, at any time, the rights recognised by Chile's Law No. 21,719 on the Protection of Personal Data:
- Access: know what data of yours is processed and for what purpose.
- Rectification: correct inaccurate or outdated data.
- Erasure: request that your data be removed from this site.
- Objection: object to the processing of your data.
- Portability: request a copy of your data in a structured format.
- Temporary blocking: request that processing be suspended while a request is resolved.
To exercise any of these rights, write to fpinab@gmail.com. As this is a personal site with no dedicated team, I resolve requests as soon as I receive them. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may file a complaint with Chile's Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales), the oversight body created by the same law.
Retention
Third-party personal data published on this site is kept for as long as the person does not request its removal, or for as long as it still reflects the reason it was published for. No other personal data is retained, because none is collected.
Infrastructure
This site is hosted through external hosting and infrastructure providers, which, simply by delivering the service, may log standard technical access data (such as IP address) for security and availability purposes. This site does not access or make use of those logs.
